Over the last few weeks I have been sending emails to your families but today I am writing to you!
Our school motto ‘Happy and Caring’ has been seen in abundance over the last few weeks and I am so proud of you all. You have been fantastic this year but especially over the last few weeks. It has been strange at times – having to wash your hands whilst singing happy birthday. Nevertheless, you did as you were asked without moaning, and for that we are very grateful.
It has felt strange this week as classes have got smaller and you are seeing less of your friends. Some of your friends haven’t been ill, buthave been away so they don’t catch bugs. I have loved listening to the chatter, laughter and singing around the school. This has been so important to all the adults in school during this time. You make us so happy!
It is going to become stranger over the next few weeks, as we close the doors today for most of you. If your parents/carers are ‘key workers’ then you will still come to school. If your parents are not ‘key workers’ then you will need to stay at home to ‘socially distance’ yourself. This means you’ll need to stay in your homes as much as possible so that you and your family don’t become ill.
For those of you that will be coming to school on Monday - Fantastic! We will have plenty of fun and exciting learning opportunities for you to get involved in – it’ll be great!
For those of you that won’t be at school, we have given you plenty of activities to take home and do with your family. Please keep in touch with us and tweet and send us photos, we will keep in touch with you via this way too! If you haven’t been able to pick up your pack we will try and get it to you next week but your family have had it via email.
We look forward to having you all back at Bryn Coch, hopefully very soon. If this situation goes on for longer I promise our year 6’s that when this is all over, probably in the autumn term we will have a leavers’ service and sleepover. You have been a fantastic year group and I am devastated that we have not spent the whole year with you. You should be very proud of yourselves, we are!
Please, please, please make sure you send your teachers lots of messages, they will really want to hear how you are getting on.
Take care all of you and see you soon
